Worship

Sunday worship is one of the best ways to learn how we live out our faith.

We worship every Sunday at 10:00am  We would love to have you join us in meaningful worship, caring fellowship, and our growing Christian journey of faith and service.

WHAT WORSHIP LOOKS LIKE:  Join us as we praise God together through shared singing of traditional hymns and more contemporary offerings; through hearing God’s word for a new day filtered through the lens of scripture, tradition, experience, and reason; through lifting up our joys & concerns in prayer together; and through responding to God by offering our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service and our witness.  Worship lasts between 60-75 minutes.worship01

CHILDREN: We welcome ALL children to stay and participate in Worship with their families. Childcare is provided in the nursery before and during Worship for those in need. Our PreK Little Ones lesson meets during Worship following the Children’s Message in the Nursery. Worship Kits with games and Children’s Bulletins are available during every Worship throughout the year.

YOUTH: All youth worship with their families or together during service. Middle School and High School Youth (6th-12th grade) are invited to the Youth Room before worship from 9:30-10:00am to read the scripture of the week and look for themes and ideas that will be present in the worship service and message. Through discussion of the scripture we will seek out and apply meaning for their own lives.

COMMUNION: We  celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion on the first Sunday each month. United Methodists practice an Open Table. Everyone who desires a relationship with Christ is welcome to the Feast. You don’t have to be a member of our church or any church!  Holy Communion is a mystery too deep for words. We open our hearts to divine love and trust that in receiving the bread & juice, our hearts become more ready to receive love and respond to it.  In the community gathered at Christ’s table, we find the nourishment we need for the tasks of discipleship ahead. We invite you to share in the radical hospitality of Christ, and know that there is always a place at the table for you.cathybaptism

BAPTISM:  As Beloved of God, we are invited to take part in the Sacraments – an outward sign of God’s inward grace.  Because we believe that God’s grace is available to us even before we ask for it, and that God is working in our lives even before we are aware of God (Prevenient Grace), Baptism is available to us as infants through adulthood.  We ask that those bringing children for infant or childhood baptism be active in the church so that you can help the congregation fulfill the vows they make on behalf of your child.goodShepard

FELLOWSHIP HOUR:  After the service ALL are invited to join us for a variety of lovingly prepared snacks during our Fellowship Hour so we can get to know each other better.  One of our members calls this time our “Happy Hour”, because it is an opportunity for the community to share fellowship one another and offer hospitality to our guests.

GOOD SHEPHERD TEAMS:  These teams are indispensable to the life of Worship and Fellowship Hour.  The coordinator of each team invites members of their team to use their gifts in Worship and hospitality.  Opportunities to serve include:
1. greeting people as they come in for worship
2.  liturgist/worship leader
3.  Communion Steward on the first Sunday of the month
4.  offering hospitality following worship by serving coffee/tea/beverages and snacks
